Outdoor kitchen islands

UNICA 300 outdoor kitchen island with bar seating on a rooftop terrace at sunset
A UNICA 300 island with bar seating — the kitchen as the destination, not an appliance against a wall.

The island is the outdoor kitchen at its most complete and most compact: grill, storage, worktop and refrigeration in one architectural piece. Capo Cuòco islands are made to order in marine-grade powder-coated aluminum — UNICA standard widths run 210 to 300 cm, with fully custom linear, L- and U-shaped compositions beyond them — and installed turn-key across Toronto and the GTA.

Widths from 210 to 300 cm

UNICA outdoor kitchen islands run 210, 240, 270 and 300 cm in standard widths — and fully custom linear, L- and U-shaped compositions beyond them.

Built around the grill

Built-in gas grills, smokers or pizza ovens sit at the centre, with enclosure and ventilation engineered into the island — see the appliance guide.

Bar seating

Longer islands carry an overhang for bar seating — the kitchen becomes the table, and the cook stays in the conversation.

Storage, engineered

Drawers, doors and accessory organizers are made to order in the same marine-grade body — no aftermarket inserts.

A body that earns winter

Marine-grade powder-coated aluminum and 316 stainless steel — the island lives outside 365 days a year, uncovered.

Installed in days

The island arrives as finished modules and is installed turn-key — why modular beats site-built.

Modular island, custom composition

An island is the most compact complete outdoor kitchen — and the starting point of every larger composition. UNICA is the signature island line; STRATO pairs the aluminum body with timber-slat fronts; the open-frame CSL takes the island idea apart into consoles. All three are made to order in Canada-ready materials and installed across Toronto and the GTA — compare the collections.

One island, every station

An island — often called a BBQ island or grill island — is an outdoor cooking station, grill station and bar in one footprint. The grill anchors the centre, with heat shielding and ventilation engineered into its module; prep runs on 316 stainless worktop beside it; refrigeration and storage sit below; and an overhang turns the service side into seating. It is the outdoor BBQ station distilled to one architectural piece — no cart, no cluster of freestanding units, no compromise on materials. Under a pergola or out in the open, every composition is designed to its setting — see covered outdoor kitchens.

How much room does bar seating need?

Allow 610 mm (24 in) of counter per stool, so four stools need about 2.4 m of overhang, and full bar seating suits the longer islands. Behind the stools, leave 813 mm (32 in) to a wall, 914 mm (36 in) if someone has to edge past, and 1,118 mm (44 in) if people walk behind. Outdoors, a railing, planter or pool edge counts as the wall.

Asked before every project

How much does an outdoor kitchen island cost?

Every island is made to order, so pricing is quote-only: in the Toronto market, installed projects generally run from the low tens of thousands of dollars upward with size, appliances and countertop the main drivers — the cost guide explains each one.

Can an outdoor kitchen island stay outside all winter?

Yes. The marine-grade powder-coated aluminum body and 316 stainless hardware are engineered for freeze-thaw, snow and UV — no seasonal teardown, no shrink-wrap. See four-season outdoor kitchens.

Island or full outdoor kitchen — where do I start?

Start with how you host. A single island carries a complete kitchen; L- and U-shaped compositions add zones for prep, service and seating. A complimentary consultation settles the right footprint before anything is priced.
